Do you have a written job description? Job descriptions are often quite long and try to cover everything your employer may desire of you.
You may be surprised at the brevity of the job description of the President of the United States (as taken from the U.S. Constitution, Article II).
Job Description -- President of the United States
- Faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States
- to the best of your Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States
- be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia
- Grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment
- with the Advice and Consent of the Senate:
- make Treaties,
- nominate Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States
- from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient;
- may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper;
- receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers;
- shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed,
- Commission all the Officers of the United States.
